Feeding of betta fish

Although these fish have a high preference for food of animal origin, they are omnivorous and can adapt to many types of foods such as artificial preparations, live food, home food. Although feeding them as artificial formulas is the most practical method, permanent use is not recommended without alternating it with live food or homemade formulas, as this could cause nutritional deficiencies or health problems.

To offer animal welfare to our pets it is important that you provide them with adequate food and in amounts proportional to the size of your fish. Ideally, feed your fish 2-3 times a day in low quantities. In general terms, the diet should consist of a minimum protein percentage of 40%.

You should be careful that the fish feed is not excessive, because your fish will eat as much as you supply. In the case that you notice a state of swelling in your belly, gradually reduce the amount of food you give, if the swelling continues, try to contact a veterinarian, since it could also be hydrops, a much more serious disease than It requires attention.
